Detailed Program
Day 1 Alamein - Siwa
Meeting at hotel in Cairo at 6 AM, and transfer to Alamein visiting the WWII war museum. Lunch en route to Marsah Matrouh. Arrival at Siwa around sunset. Dinner at a local restaurant and check into the hotel - Siwa Resort.
Day 2 Siwa Sights
Wake up at 7 AM for breakfast in the hotel. Tour the oasis today: Temple of the Oracle, old Shali town, Mountain of the Dead and Cleopatra Spring. A Siwan barbeque dinner ends the day.
Day 3 Areq Oasis – Lake Sutra
Early rise and breakfast at hotel. Load the vehicles and head toward the remote yet beautiful oasis of Areq. We explore the white cliffs of the great depression and the ancient Roman tombs. Following lunch we resume our track toward the lake of Sutra , situated amid the dunes. We camp a little further from the lake to avoid the treacherous bites of the mosquitoes.
Day 4 Bahariya
Early rise before we cross the dunes and visit the beautiful lake of Sutra. Following lunch we continue on dirt road to Baharyia Oasis. Check in El Beshmo Hotel. Dinner is served at the hotel's restaurant. We might have the opportunity to enjoy an awesome bath in a hot pool. The source of the hot water is the Roman natural spring of el Beshmo.
Day 5 White Desert
Wake up at leisure, breakfast is served in the hotel and we load the vehicle for an excursion into the desert towards the magnificent White Desert. Lunch under the palm trees of a magical spring in an otherwise harsh desert environment.
Day 6 Farafra – Abu Minqar
We head to the Oasis of Farafra where we will enjoy a hot water bath in the natural hot water spring, we visit the ancient mud brick village and resume our track toward Abu Minqar. Camp amid the dunes of Abu Minqar.
Day 7 Qasr – Dakhla
Today we visit the Islamic town of al Qasr where we have lunch in one of the local restaurants. We continue to Dakhla Oasis where we check in a comfortable hotel and have dinner in the garden.
Day 8 Kharga
On asphalt we reach the Mother of All Oases – the Kharga Oasis. We will visit the Christian tombs of Al Bagawat and the Temple of Hibis.
Day 9 Luxor – end of journey
We drive to Luxor where our safari ends.
