8 Days / 7 Nights package
The White Desert
Between the oases of Bahariya and Farafra Oasis the desert is extended is for about 60 km squared.
This desert was not popular for visits till a few years ago however, it is getting famous after declaring it as a National Park in November 2009. We offer such a tour to explore the white desert in the most suitable way by walking in caravans for a couple of days to enjoy the spectacular scenery & rock formations.
Day 01 - Arrival Cairo
Arrive at Cairo airport.
Meet & assist through the customs & the immigration at Cairo Airport upon arrival by Excel Travel representative. Escorted transfer to the hotel & overnight in Cairo
Day 02 - Cairo – Bahareya – White Desert (about 480 km)
Early morning visit to the pyramids at Gizeh plateau, Khufu and Menkaure, Chephren after breakfast at the hotel & then take the road of western desert oasis eastwards to Bahareya.
Lunch boxes will be prepared from the Hotel.
Continue the drive after Bahareya to reach Aggabat whereby you would leave your bus behind & start walking for about one hour to reach the camping place for the first night camping in the White desert.
Excel Travel team will prepare the camping area with sleeping tents & a special tent for seating & dinning on Arabic style (cushions & low tables).
Lunch & dinners will be prepared by the specialized team. Lunch will be picnic lunch & Dinner will be served hot including (Beef, chicken, salads, rice, pasta & vegetables. Soft drinks, mineral water are available all the day and tea & coffee are available after meals.

Day 03 - Aqqabat – Ain Khodra – Wadi Abyat
Our specialist tour leader & local guide will lead you for a day walking - about 5 / 6 hours - to explore the sedimentary stones formation with few rocks.
All meals are included with mineral water & soft drinks after meals.
Day 04 - Sahara El Gedida – The new desert-
We discover a true work of craftsmanship.
The Erosions & work of nature (Sands, water & wind) have been able to create, over the years such incomparable rock formations. You will be able to see there the shapes of obelisks, mushrooms & pyramids.
We spend the day – about 5 – 6 hours - in the midst of beautiful limestone formations shaped.
We set up camp so that everyone can enjoy the place.
Day 05 - 06 - Bir Agouz – Wadi Khabour – the big dune
After breakfast in the camping area, we drive few kilometers to reach the asphalt at Bir Agouz whereby we cross the road to the western side of the White Desert to Wadi Khabur- Finger of God.
It is an impressive limestone monolith that seems to rise like a finger toward the sky.
Through a tray of sand and limestone in a much larger space, we then head north.
2 nights camping
Day 07 - Whit desert – Bahareya - Cairo
Our classical vehicle will be ready by the asphalt road after breakfast to drive back to Cairo passing by & exploring Bahareya oasis of Bahariya.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Bahareya.
Drive back to Cairo & check in the hotel
Evening tour to explore the most famous bazaars of Khan El Khalili and buy some souvenirs
Overnight at the hotel in Cairo
Day 08 - Departure-Cairo
Breakfast in the hotel, and check out.
Transfer to Cairo Airport for your final departure
Package rate valid till April 2012 based on the following hotels:
Delta Pyramids or Tiba Pyramids or Santana or similar in Cairo for the 3* stars
Oases, Barcelo, Grand Pyramids, Cataract Pyramids or similar in Cairo for the 4* stars
