Hurghada - Red Sea

Once a tiny fisher village, Hurghada is now a stretch of 35 km beach with attractive deluxe resorts offering all the amenities of class hotels. The clarity of the water, and the endless opportunities for divers make Hurghada the centre for leisure tourism in Egypt and a successful destination for divers and swimmers. The underwaterworld is just right off the beach with a rich fish life. The corals reefs can be discovered by joining one of the many boat expeditions out to the nearby islands. Giftun is the largest, and lies about 10 km from Hurghada.
Hurghada is the only medium size Egyptian town on the Red Sea and as such it offers a unique atmosphere. It can be divided into three main centres and numerous self-contained tourist villages now growing into one body. To the north, lies the place that is closest to being a town, Ad-Dahar, which has more than half of the total local population, and the most price worthy hotels and restaurants. A couple of kilometres south, comes Sigala, followed by New Hurghada a few kilometres more to the south.

Hurghada is very popular among wind and kitesurfers. Easy access to the major ancient sites in Cairo and along the Nile Aswan and Luxor lets you easily combine a leisure beach holiday or a dive vacation with cultural excursions. Hurghada offers a rich nightlife and many day activities like quad runners and desert safaris.
