Ecolodge Al Tarfa in Dakhla
A blend of elegance and charming simplicity,
Al Tarfa Lodge, Spa and Desert Center,
adds an extravagant thrill to the beautiful Dakhla Oasis. The ecolodge is managed by Camps & Lodges of Egypt and opens in September 2008 featuring 20 rooms built from natural material, a swimming pool and a spa.

Byoum Residence Fayyoum launched
Last month Orascom Development Holding (ODH) launched Byoum Residence, the first luxury real estate complex in Fayoum. Byoum Residence covers 103 feddans and is situated along Lake Qarun. It will boast 142 villas, a five-star hotel, a commercial center, hunting grounds and Fayoum's first-ever marina. The complex will also house several restaurants, bars and a luxury-style spa. Byoum is named after the Pharaonic name for Fayoum. Byoum Residence is not geared toward mass tourism and marketed to a very specific target.

Uptown Cairo launches The Address
The Address Hotels & Resorts, the newly-launched 5 star premium hotel brand of Emaar Hospitality Group, has unveiled its first hotel property in Egypt: The Address, Uptown Cairo. Uptown Cairo is a luxury community in the Muqattam Hills. The Address is scheduled to open in 2011.

Hacienda Beach is not somewhere in Mexico. It is located right on the North Coast near al-Alamein.
Nikki Beach, one of the world's leading lifestyle and entertainment brands, is raising a boutique hotel boasting 125 rooms and suites in Egypt's latest hotspot for jetsetters catering to the ultra-VIP.
Nikki Beach Resort & Spa is part of Palm Hills Development. PHD plans to develop 4,500 hotel rooms in Egypt.
The Golf course at Hacienda Beach is designed by John Stanford.


Culture

Oldest Bible heads into Cyberspace
The 4th century Codex Sinaiticus written by hand in Greek includes the oldest complete copy of the New Testament as well as parts of the Old Testament, the Apocrypha and two early Christian texts.
Tischendorff, a German biblical scholar, discovered the documents in the mid 19th century during one of his visits to the Sinai monastery St. Catherine. Fragments of the manuscript are found in Germany, Russia, UK and the monastery itself.
